Currently, John T. Peters is the founder of Mind Mashery, LLC., a consultancy firm focused on the travel, hospitality, tourism, travel technology, and media arenas. John’s current focus is helping companies survive the economic downturn due to Covid-19. John also mentors travel technology startups on topics such as product ideation, investor presentations, media and press, customer acquisition, strategic partnerships, and more.

Recently, John was also the Managing Director – Retail & Partnerships for Brush Creek Ranch (White Lodging), the #1 resort in the USA for five years running by Conde Nast, located in Saratoga, Wyoming. John and his team launched a new retail division focused on luxury products and perishables.

Prior to his role at Brush Creek, John was President, Travel Media Group at USA TODAY and was responsible for strategy, digital product development, circulation, ad sales and acquisitions like

John’s team launched innovative digital products like “The Point,” a custom news and entertainment platform deployed in 3,000 hotels and 450,000+ guest rooms.  His team also launched Experience Travel; a multi-platform travel planning portfolio with titles like Experience Las Vegas, Experience Cruise, Experience Food & Wine and others.

Prior to this, John was SVP Digital Strategy and Business Development for Rand McNally, where he launched successful programs like “Best of the Road” with Travel Channel. John joined Rand when they acquired, where he was the CEO of the venture-funded interactive travel referral service and its network of 15,000+ travel specialists.

Prior to Tripology, John was VP of Business Development for Wyndham Worldwide where he led the launch of Endless Vacation Rentals. Earlier in his career, John co-founded Zeus Tours & Yacht Cruises, an international yacht cruise/tour and hotel business.  John successfully sold the business in 1999.

John is a frequent speaker and moderator at domestic and international conferences including World Travel Market, EyeforTravel, The Los Angeles Times Travel Show, The New York Times Travel Show, International Cruise-a-thon and others. He has made numerous radio and television appearances and has been featured in such publications as The New York Times, USA TODAY, Reuters, MSNBC, Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report, Business Insider, Internet Weekly, and La Nacion, Argentina’s largest newspaper. John also frequently presents at universities on the subject of entrepreneurship, for both graduate and undergraduate students. In 2011, John accepted the GOLD Adrian award for Digital Marketing Promotion for the “Best of the Road®” program he created, which generated over a billion media impressions in six months.  In 2009, John was also recognized as “Innovator of the Year” by the US Travel Association. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Certified Travel Industry Executive certification from The Travel Institute.
